When ye have performed the act of worship, remember Allah, standing, sitting and reclining. And when ye are in safety, observe proper worship. Worship at fixed times hath been enjoined on the believers.
What it does
The home screen is your day's prayer timeline, not a feed. Everything else is one tap away.
At each adhan, the apps you choose are shielded with Apple's Screen Time until you log the prayer. Free for all five prayers.
Computed on your iPhone, offline, with every major calculation method, Hanafi or standard Asr, high-latitude rules and a per-prayer adjustment to match your mosque.
The Arabic Uthmani text with Pickthall's English, in a reader with search and bookmarks, and a quiet full-screen ayah feed. Free, all of it.
A Ramadan challenge with a khatm plan by juzʾ, suhoor and iftar times, the Last Ten Nights, and an iftar countdown on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.
The bearing to the Kaaba from true north, always shown as a number, with a compass arrow when your iPhone's heading is reliable.
A counter for SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu akbar and more, with the 33 · 33 · 34 after salah and a history of what you have done.
Next-prayer, today's-prayers, ayah-of-the-day and streak widgets, with a button to log a prayer straight from the Home Screen. Log each prayer as on time, late or made up (qada), and keep a streak without guilt: days you mark as excused or travelling never break it.
The app speaks English, Arabic, Urdu, French, Turkish, Indonesian and Malay, with right-to-left layouts for Arabic and Urdu. The Qur'an translation is English (Pickthall).
How Salah Lock works
Salah Lock uses Apple's Screen Time to put a quiet pause between you and the apps that pull you in, right when it is time to pray.
Allow Screen Time and pick the apps or categories to pause. Apple gives Mawqut sealed tokens, never app names or your usage. We suggest leaving Phone, Messages and Maps unlocked.
At each prayer you lock, those apps show a shield: the prayer's name, how long is left, and a short ayah.
Open Mawqut, log the prayer, and your apps open again. The shield also lifts after 30 minutes by default, or at the next prayer, whichever is first.
“Not now” snoozes for 10 minutes, twice per prayer. There is an emergency unlock, and you can switch Salah Lock off in the app at any time. Excused and travel days pause or combine the lock.
It's time for Asr · العصر
Be guardians of your prayers, and of the midmost prayer, and stand up with devotion to Allah. (2:238)
Mawqut+ adds up to five app selections with a different rule per prayer, “read N ayat” and “N dhikr” unlocks, windows up to 90 minutes and a strict mode.

Questions
Yes, and we will never charge for an obligation. Prayer times, adhan, qibla, Salah Lock for all five prayers, the whole Qur'an, the prayer log and qada tracker, the current Ramadan challenge, dhikr and small and medium widgets are free with no time limit and no ads. Mawqut+ adds more lock rules and selections, themes, wallpapers, hifz, a journal, archives and Lock Screen widgets.
Mawqut calculates them on your iPhone from your location or chosen city, using published astronomical formulas. It supports MWL, ISNA, Egyptian, Karachi, Umm al-Qura, Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait, Moonsighting Committee, Singapore, JAKIM, Kemenag, Diyanet, Tehran, Jaʿfari and custom angles, with standard or Hanafi Asr. It picks a sensible default for your country, and you can change it.
Calculated times are estimates. Please check them against your local mosque; you can adjust each prayer by up to 30 minutes either way.
No. You can choose your city from a built-in list instead, and the list works offline. If you do allow location, Mawqut uses it on your iPhone only, to compute prayer times and the qibla, and never sends it anywhere. Approximate location is enough.
If you are driving or at work, tap “Not now” on the shield to snooze for 10 minutes, up to twice per prayer. An emergency unlock is there when you need it, and you can switch Salah Lock off in the app at any time. Days you mark as excused pause the lock and keep your streak; travel mode follows the combined prayer windows.
No. Apple gives Mawqut sealed tokens for the apps you pick, not their names or your usage. Mawqut can ask iOS to shield those tokens, and that is all. Your Screen Time data stays with Apple on your iPhone.
The Arabic is the Tanzil Uthmani text, shown exactly as published by the Tanzil Project. The English is Marmaduke Pickthall's The Meaning of the Glorious Koran (1930), which is in the public domain. Read-aloud is for the English only; Mawqut never uses a synthetic voice for the Arabic Qur'an.
Ramadan 1448 is expected to begin on 7, 8 or 9 February 2027, depending on how your country decides the month. Mawqut follows the Umm al-Qura calendar (8 February), and you can shift it by up to two days either way to match your community. On the evening it may begin, Mawqut asks whether Ramadan has begun where you are.
Neither. There is no sign-up of any kind. Prayer times, the Qur'an, qibla, the lock and the log all work offline. You only need a connection to buy or restore Mawqut+, which goes through Apple.
$29.99 a year with a 3-day free trial for eligible new subscribers, $6.99 a month, or $59.99 once for lifetime access. Those are US prices; the App Store shows the price for your country. Cancel any time in Settings › your name › Subscriptions.
